The Village Pottery is a unique family-run pottery in the heart of Clifton Village, with a wide selection of beautiful handcrafted items for sale as gifts or for personal use. Their ceramics are unique and personal, but they are also intended to be used.

The Village Pottery is constantly being replenished with hot-out-the-kiln pots. Keep an eye out for the ‘Hershey Kiss’ inspired candle snuffers, quirky garlic roasters and everybody’s favourite… mugs and teapots. In October 2011, three years after launching the Lahloo Tea – continuing her mission to get people to discover the best quality tea – Kate Gover opened the doors to Lahloo Pantry, a ‘thoroughly modern’ tea room.

The ‘Lahloo’ was the name of the nineteenth century tea clipper that Kate’s great-great grandfather, George Hockaday, sailed aboard (the name capture the spirit of new worlds and discoveries). A ‘pantry’ is a cupboard or room where you’ll find all of life’s little everyday necessities. Together, these two words reflect Lahloo Pantry’s philosophy: a celebration of something old with the excitement of discovering something new.

A relaxed and friendly space, Lahloo Pantry is open everyday for brunch, lunch and afternoon tea, and of course for stocking up your own pantry! Inspired by Kate’s travels and the Lahloo philosophy, Lahloo Pantry is the perfect mix of old-shool tea shop and modern European cafe. Soma is a shop and gallery promoting contemporary art, design and illustration, specialising in limited edition prints by illustrators and printmakers. Alongside the prints Soma sells a wide range of artworks, textiles, jewellery, ceramics, magazines and books.

The majority of the work on display in Soma is from UK based artists with many coming from Bristol and the South West.

70 Gromits, 10 weeks, 1 city.
July 1st to September 7th 2013.

Led by the internationally renowned Aardman Animations, Gromit Unleashed is a public art exhibition in the city of Bristol. Giant fibreglass sculptures of Gromit, standing 5ft tall, will be ‘unleashed’ onto the streets of Bristol and the surrounding area.

Each sculpture will be individually designed and created by invited artists, creating a trail of seventy unique pieces of art and will form an art exhibition for ten weeks over the summer of 2013.

At the end of the public art exhibition, the sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity.

Formed in 1979, the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta has become one of Bristol’s key icons and is a world class event, raising the city’s profile locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

The 35th Bristol International Balloon Fiesta will be held at Ashton Court, Bristol from 8th – 11th August 2013.

The Clifton Suspension Bridge, spanning the picturesque Avon Gorge, is the symbol of the city of Bristol. For almost 150 years this Grade I listed structure has attracted visitors from all over the world. 63PV is conveniently situated just 5 minutes walk away from this spectacular attraction.

An Interpretation Centre is situated at the Leigh Woods end of the bridge. It contains information and images of the plans in the competition, the construction and completion of the bridge, and how it is maintained today. Books, postcards and souvenirs are on sale. The centre is open 10am-5pm daily throughout the year.

The UK’s largest permanent street art project, See No Evil is a huge outdoor gallery showcasing some of the world’s leading outdoor artists on Nelson Street, Bristol.

See No Evil was organised with the support of Arts Council England, London 2012 Festival, Bristol City Council and Bristol University, bringing Nelson Street to life with giant graffiti murals and turning huge city centre buildings into an international tourist attraction.
